Things I never thought that I would do as a parent (don't judge).
-Let Parker play with stuff from the trash while I run to the bathroom real fast (ever see the move Babies? Those kids played with much worse).
-Put on Harry Potter Goblet of Fire for Parker in the car because he was screaming his head off. He got real quiet at some point and I realized he was watching the scene where Voldemort kills Cedric... I turned if off.
-Put hair clips in Parker's hair while he plays with my make up. I want to see what he would look like as a little girl. NBD.
-Let Parker walk around the house with the iPod in his hand and ear buds in his ears listening to music.
-Let him play in the bath for an extra 20 minutes because it keeps him occupied.
-Put him to bed well past 10 p.m. on the weekends so that we may sleep in...
-Let him pull off all the toilet paper from the roll. It takes him a good ten minutes.
-Give him my camera so he can hold it in front of his face and smile while simultaneously banging it on the tile.
Fact: Parker has me wrapped around his little finger. It's all good though because tonight after I put him in bed and gave him his monkey(which was mine when I was a baby) he waved at me and said, "Good night mama." LIFE IS GOOD!

Here is Parker in the bathroom after his bath. I let him rub lotion on the mirror while he was naked. Now i get to go clean it up.

Little Parker has become quite the little Pill Bug when it comes to eating...he nibbles on something for a second, spits it out, throws it on the ground, looks at me, and starts going off in crazy baby talk. Maybe it's because while he makes a horrible mess of his barley and mushrooms I'm sitting next to him eating a pop tart (the frosted kind). Do as I say not as I do!

All smiles till he realizes it's a hard boiled egg in that bowl.

I love General Conference! It was such a nice weekend, we got together with Mike's family on Saturday, the boys went to Priesthood, the girls went to Barro's and Parker and Kurt had their first hug (thanks Kurt)! They are becoming fast friends, two weeks ago they shared a green bean. I can't wait to do a little Easter photo session of Parker with his cousins.

Last night Mike took a homework break and we went outside to play.

Personal favorite. Love my Little Parker.

Whilst Mike plots his medical school adventures I lay on the bed pretending to be as involved in this mishmash of medical school mayhem as he is. but really my mind is thinking of simpler, softer things..

I will make these for Mike with a little love note attached that says, "hang in there!"

I will get this for little Parker and put it over his crib so he can be in Neverland every night.
best part is that the poster is all in French.

I dream of owning this Etsy find one day, or attempting to make something like it for a deserving little lady.

Parker's Little Birthday and such

My baby turned one on February 4th! I started crying about it the week before and kept crying on and off until the day of. We had a small party at the train park in Scottsdale and the whole time little Parker had a distant and confused look on his face (see pictures) I think it was because he has never been outside for that long before (he's a very sheltered child, my bad). My family came down from NM and all Mikes family was there, it was great feeling all the love from both sides. My dad's birthday was on the 7th so we made it a combined celebration, it was a wonderful day!

The weekends have kinda become a joke for the Weed family, When it's Friday night and Mike and I are feeling lame about staying in we pack little Parker up in the stroller and walk to the grocery store? We can't justify spending money anywhere else and we both really like food so we just spend our weekends eating and watching Netflix. Pretty lame.

Our ghetto ally. I think Parker was pissed about having to go out with the Rents to the grocery store on a Friday night.

Paying hommage to Goodwill.

I never did post about Thanksgiving, I never posted about Christmas, and I have yet to post about Parker's 1st birthday (I will) but here I am dedicating a post to Goodwill....
This past month the stars were aligned in my favor, I snagged so many great finds from my local goodwill that some gratitude must be payed. First I must explain the deep love that I have for thrift stores, I feel that once I have embarked over the stores threshold the sky is the limit, nothing is too expensive and treasures abound. I become a pirate plundering every isle filling my cart chock-full of loot.

This first little ditty is too charming for words, found for a mere $10. After some research I found its value to actually be around $150. I feel it will grace the walls of my home for years to come.

This great little crocheted dress was made with so much care. I can't wait to put it on my future mini me. I think it was $2 and it's in perfect condition!

This fabric was a "find of the day" I got about 3 yards of it and am currently in the process of making curtains for my kitchen. It is so sturdy and colorful.

This next find takes the Goodwill cake I was out in the drop-off area when a lady pulled with some boxes of things to donate, she pulled out this little treasure, saw Parker sitting in the stroller and asked me if I wanted it. I was thrilled (never turn down anything free, never) she said it was an antique child's chair and was happy it was going to a good home.

The next picture is of little Parker sitting in his new "big boy chair" it makes him nervous because his feet don't touch the ground so he gets stuck on it...he's very cautious, bless his heart.

It's a shame that both the men in my life are more opposed to Goodwill then any other retail store, little Parker starts fussing the minute we hit the entrance. It may be the curious smells wafting down each isle or the fact that I don't let him touch any toy until it has been properly sanitized. No matter, it is my sanctuary. Hopefully more successes are soon to follow.

This was awhile ago, with much persistence Parker now thoroughly enjoys winter squash, carrots, avocado, PEAS, and zucchini. I thoroughly enjoy cooking said food in my Beaba cooker.(thanks grandma)

Our Beautiful baby is here! Parker was born Thursday at noon! He weighs 6 lbs. 8 oz. It all started on Wednesday when I took some castor oil (whoops). I started having contractions at 5 o'clock that night and went into the hospital at 8 dilated to 3 centimeters. The nurse wanted to start me on some pitocin but since I was hoping to do things natural, I objected. They sent me home and told me to come back when my water broke or it got too painful to handle. My contractions were already five minutes apart and I was in a good amount of pain but I went home and resorted to the techniques Mike and I had learned in our class. I took a bath, ate sonic, listened to relaxing music, took a shower, got massaged by Mike, watched I Shouldn't be Alive on discovery channel ( it helped to minimize my situation considering I hadn't crashed in a plane in the desert and broken both my legs) and watched some MTV ( lady gaga music videos make for a good distraction) ....and finally at about 8 am I had had enough. We went back to the hospital and were relieved to find I was 8 1/2 centimeters. I was taken to the delivery room and the real suffering began, the contractions were horrific and everyone was asking me if I wanted an epidural. I had been working for a natural birth for so long and I knew the pain was only temporary. I knew millions of babies had been born natural, I knew the pain would last about a day then be gone, and I knew my baby and myself would be much better off without the epidural. I used all my strength and the support I got from Mike (who was absolutely amazing). Mike was the best coach and I could not have done it with out him, he kept me from losing it so many times. When it came time to push I gave it my all and pushed six times. I don't remember much other than the episiotomy feeling good because it relieved so much pressure, and screaming a lot. Out came Parker and honestly I felt like I was gonna die, but when they placed him on my chest the pain didn't matter and I was the happiest person in the world. Unfortunately, later that day I hemorrhaged massive amounts of blood and passed out. We had to stay in the hospital for four days and I got a blood transfusion. It was scary for a while and disappointing but Mike took care of Parker while I was in bed and I think they bonded more because of it. Parker is the easiest baby ever! he never cries just kinda whines and loves to be held. He is the best eater and I'm all about breastfeeding, it's actually been pretty easy for me! Our little family is complete now! I feel more blessed than ever for this wonderful gift. He is a little angel. Mike and I love him more than words.

Confession...Since dear Mike is on break from school and since he did such an amazing job making strait A's again this semester and getting another A+ in Organic Chemistry ( i have to brag) his brain deserves a bit of a rest and thus he has become enthralled with a special game and has dragged me down with him. Magic the Gathering(you know the card game that boys in trench coats with greasy hair sat around playing during lunch on the floor in high school) is a game of strategy and skill that we both have become somewhat obsessed with. We make a great dueling team i must say, he has an array of power punching decks while i stick mainly to the Teeth of the Predator deck (the green deck) this is all played on his xbox ( we don't really have the cards I swear, tho it may come to that) I am comfortable sharing this part of my life with others and I will not be offended if you pass judgement on me.
